This is a real confession too. I hope this doesn't sound too much like I'm running for Miss America, but here we go.
I used to know someone who'd constantly berate me for being a JDM fan (He's a Ford elitist, go figure). He'd also poke fun at Japanese cars with body kits and large turbochargers and whatnot. That guy's a jackass, but that's not what this is about.
You see,
I like this type of stuff. I love Japanese car culture, and I love JDM tuning culture. I think Japanese sports cars with body kits like that are awesome. Of course, this could be because I grew up playing Ridge Racer, several NFS games about JDM tuning, and my cousins also embrace JDM culture.
Anyway, that's that. DON'T assume that I like stanced cars, because I legitimately hate those with a burning passion. This type of stuff though, I like.

I never understood body kits

I find tuning cool, just don't go all FNF style with the underglow and NOS bottles.

To each his own man, thats whats great about the Japanese car culture, they, or so it seems, accept everyone and everything. Hell theres a part of me that just wants to buy a cheap japanese car and rice it to no end for the laughs, if it makes you happy then who gives a fuck?

I can get behind Japanese tuners, But I cant stand the body kits

Well you're not part of the stance trend so you're in the clear. Also I like them when they are cleanly done, not when it's a cheap paint job on maybe two-thirds and the front bumper is just primed for paint.

It's weird, I normally hate ridiculous body kits on cars. But I was looking at a Japanese auction site and saw a few cars with body kits and I loved them. No clue why.

It's an acquired taste. Used to love the Eclipse. Honestly don't mind them now but prefer the stock look. That's just the way car culture has evolved. We've gone from bold in your face trends to much cleaner looks. Keeping the body stock seems to be the norm now with maybe only some lips and a spoiler added.

Tuners and stance are two very different things. I have no problem with tuners. Stance is a different story. That said, I love the body kits and wild styling, and don't care quite as much about the tuning aspect. Having admitted that, I will say that I don't like all of them. I like some of them. I like what I like, and that doesn't have to include everything.
^This kind of thing is a waste of space to me. So much added complexity and weight. I might nose around it just to see how far it's gone, but if I was handed the keys, I would gladly hand them to someone genuinely interested in the car and taking care of it.
^Something like this on the other hand could keep my attention for a significant amount of time, because to me, it looks really good as a whole car. It has great attention to the important bits, and no wasted time on things that aren't as important. The door hinges don't need to be reversed or put where the b-pillar used to go, I'm not interested in that. It's not stanced out, just tastefully modified with a good looking body kit and lowered enough to add to the look without subtracting too much from the general functionality of it as a car.

And not to mention that it's not just any body kit, it's an aero kit, which was installed to make the car perform better. Ignorant people look at the purple Supra and call it a rice burner.

Best way I can explain the car in your post to you - This is how most others see it:

Because it completely destroys the car's functionality. It especially hurts when I see it on a Subaru STi or a Celica GT-Four. I weep on the inside..

Hey, we all like what we like. Nothing wrong with that, and no defense needed.
And more important is that someone is excited about something automotive, even if it's not the particular thing I'm into. That's what's great about Oppo. If someone's really excited and passionate about their beige Corolla, then good for them. It's a lot better than ambivalence to all things automotive.

Good for you. Like what you like and don't feel bad about it. People who deride others for liking a culture other than what they grew up with are no better than run-of-the-mill racists.

Yes, maybe.. though it's a fashion based subculture. Like high heels on lady, performance gets sacrificed to achieve a certain aesthetic.
Plus, it's their car, right? I say let 'em tear their bumpers off if that's what they enjoy doing.

No harm if said car can be brought back to stock without a bunch of holes Thad been drilled or silly door hinges welded.
Interior customization is per taste usually tailored to the individual owner. If they like it great, I'm glad that like cats in general. Likely not something I'd have done, but to each their own.
Edit to add:
Stanced is fine, extre camber seems just ridiculous as it wouldn't advance to cars handling, likely prohibits it, so I'd grown on it, but again, not my money I'm spending.

Has to be a RWD WRX, as STIs come standard with front and rear LSDs.

I used to hate a lot of it (it especially the non mudded frat boy bro trucks) but then I got to the point where I realized none of it bothers me unless it is actively unsafe. It's people enjoying cars, and that's a good thing to support in an age where they are often threatened.

It's their car yes, but if modified too far they are endangering everyone else on the road because now the suspension barely functions and does it inunexpected ways, tires will wear and blow out much sooner than otherwise, not to mention the possibility of de-beading stretched tires. Many of them are dangerous and can cause accidents especially when driven by people who don't have the skill to handle loss of control.

That's bullsh*t, man.
You could say that ["if modified too far ..."] statement about any car, and if you're against modified cars, you're in the wrong little pocket of the interwebs. Are you against hot-rodding, too? What about vintage cars? Kit cars? Dyno Queens? Show-&-Shiners?
Special interest vehicles are often going to be "more dangerous" than modern vehicles, they can't stop or maneuver like a modern beigemobile. But, so what? Enthusiasts own them. Most of the time, enthusiasts are more capable – or at least more careful – than average commuter Joe who's running 15 seconds late to work (yes, I'm talking about the majority of enthusiasts here, there's always an a**hole).
There are tons of neglected jaloopties out on the road too, running with 12psi on bald tires and shot struts. Numbers game says those are more common too. Yet I never hear shouting from the rooftops saying it's such a shame to have to share the roads with those folks. So, is it really the safety you're worried about..?
In all honesty, 'the danger claims' are all too common on here, and they're just an excuse to hate on a particular scene – whether that scene is stancers, donks, etc. No extreme correlation of accidents between normals and stance-holes exists; I mean, what is this, Fox News? For God's sake, all they do just cruise around slowly and meet-up in parking lots!
I'm not trying to be a d*ck, or specifically call you out on this... like I said it's all over the place on here. Considering OP's post was about getting hate-on for loving imports, and in the same post he expressed hatred for stancefolk, I found it ironic. So I asked him about it. Basically:
Don't like? That's cool. Don't hate.

You took my comment entirely the wrong way. I meant exactly as you said, modified too far. I'm also a proponent of mandatory safety inspections for vehicle registration. I'm all about live and let live, but to me that means be responsible and keep your shit safe. I've been in this industry long enough to have seen more than my fair share of cars that were wrecked because of neglect. I'm all for modifying cars, as long as the work is done well in a safe manner.
